Alexandra the Ravager

Alexandra the Ravager (died 431 BC) was a Greek mercenary in the employ of Athens during the Peloponnesian War.

Biography[]

Alexandra the Ravager was an infamous Greek mercenary who carried with her a flaming sword and a hunting dog. She made sure that those who came by camps that she had cleared knew that she had been there, doing so as a form of release; she only killed when she was in a bad mood or had something to prove. In 431 BC, Hippias the Vivacious of Megaris hired Alexandra to hunt down and kill the Spartan mercenary Kassandra during the Siege of Megaris, and Alexandra showed up after Kassandra destroyed the Athenian base at Nisaia. Alexandra moved past Hippias' tent as she headed down the dirt road towards Nisaia, and she later returned after the guards at Nisaia said that Kassandra had left. However, Alexandra stood guard by the city gates, as Hippias was under heavy guard from armored attendants. Kassandra managed to distract Hippias' guards so that she could sneak into a bush behind the tent, and, when the guards returned, they all faced the road, allowing for Kassandra to move behind their backs and assassinate Hippias at his tent. Kassandra then escaped, and Alexandra and the guards failed to catch up to her.

Alexandra's body

Alexandra and Kassandra chanced upon each other once again in Phokis, where Kassandra was hunting down the Cult of Kosmos member Elpenor. Kassandra found Alexandra riding down a valley road on her horse, and she ambushed her and began a fight. The battle took them up the road and into a clearing of a woods, from which two bears and some wild hogs emerged. Kassandra ran in circles around the bears and hogs as they mauled Alexandra, and, in order to claim credit for Alexandra's death, Kassandra fired a fatal arrow which killed Alexandra.
