Alexander Harper (5 February 1786-1 December 1860) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-OH 12) from 4 March 1837 to 3 March 1839 (succeeding Elias Howell and preceding Jonathan Taylor) and from OH-14 from 4 March 1843 to 3 March 1847 (succeeding George Sweeny and preceding Nathan Evans) and from 4 March 1851 to 3 March 1853 (succeeding Evans and preceding Harvey H. Johnson). Born near Belfast, he settled in Zanesville, Ohio and practiced law before serving in the state house from 1820 to 1821, as a judge from 1822 to 1836, and in Congress.
