Alexander Hamilton Holley (12 August 1804-2 October 1887) was the Republican Governor of Connecticut from 6 May 1857 to 5 May 1858, succeeding William T. Minor and preceding William Alfred Buckingham.

Biography[]

Alexander Hamilton Holley was born in Salisbury, Connecticut in 1804, and he rose to the rank of lieutenant-colonel in the state militia before serving as a delegate to the 1844 Whig Convention and working as a manufacturer. He served as Lieutenant Governor from 1854 to 1855 and as Governor from 1857 to 1858, and he also attended the Republican National Convention of 1860. He died in 1887.
