Alexander Conrady

Alexander Conrady (16 July 1903-21 December 1983) was a Generalmajor of the Heer of Nazi Germany during World War II.

Biography[]

Alexander Conrady was born in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria on 16 July 1903, and he entered the Reichswehr at the age of 20. In July 1940, he was promoted to Major in the Wehrmacht of Nazi Germany, and he served as a battalion commander during the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. In October 1942, he took command of a motorized infantry regiment, and he was wounded while fighting at Oryol during the Kursk campaign. From 19 January to 1 July 1944, Conrady commanded the German 36th Infantry Division, and he was captured by the Soviet Red Army at Bobruysk during Operation Bagration. He was imprisoned until 1955, and he died in Augsburg in 1983.
