Alexander Canmore

Alexander Canmore (1088-1104) was the son of King Malcolm III of Scotland. A poor general, he was killed alongside his father in the Siege of Edinburgh.

Biography[]

Alexander Canmore was the second son of Malcolm III of Scotland, the king of Scotland from 1058 to 1104. At the age of 16, Canmore accompanied his father to fight against England, who attempted to enforce their claim on the British Isles. In 1104, King William the Conqueror of England laid siege to Edinburgh and captured it after a two-year siege, killing King Malcolm and Alexander in the process.
