Alexander Buckner (8 March 1785 – 6 June 1833) was a US Senator from Missouri (D) from 4 March 1831 to 6 June 1833, succeeding David Barton and preceding Lewis F. Linn.

Biography[]

Alexander Buckner was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky in 1785, and he moved to Charlestown, Indiana in 1812 and then to Jackson, Missouri in 1818. He practiced law and also had agricultural pursuits, and he was president of the state constitutional convention in 1820. In 1831, he was elected to the US Senate, but he died in office in 1833, and he was succeeded by Lewis F. Linn.
