Alexander Barrow

Alexander Barrow (27 March 1801 – 29 December 1846) was a US Senator from Louisiana (W) from 4 March 1841 to 29 December 1846, succeeding Robert C. Nicholas and preceding Pierre Soule.

Biography[]

Alexander Barrow was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1801, and he studied law at West Point before being admitted to the bar in 1822. He moved to Feliciana Parish, Louisiana to practice law, but he later abandoned his legal career to take up planting. He served in the state legislature before serving in the US Senate from 1841 until his death in 1846.
