Aleppo Governorate is one of the fourteen governorates of Syria, centered around the city of Aleppo. The governorate is the most populous of the Syrian provinces, having a population of 4,868,000 people, and the governorate makes up 10% of the total land area of Syria; it is one of the most fertile regions of the country.
