Aleksey Khomyakov (13 May 1804-5 October 1860) was a Russian poet and philosopher who was one of the founders of the Slavophile movement in the Russian Empire.

Aleksey Khomyakov was born on 13 May 1804 in Moscow, Russian Empire. Khomyakov believed that Moscow was the epitome of the way of Russian life, and he developed nostalgic views about Russian culture. In his writings, he stated that both socialism and capitalism were offspring of Western European decadence, and he was a believer in sobornost, the cooperation of people at the expense of individualism. Khomyakov died of cholera in 1860, and his teachings became the rallying cry of the Slavophile movement of Russian politics.
