Ale the Strong was the king of Sweden for 25 years in the late 5th century CE, interrupting Aun's two reigns. Ale was the son of King Fridleif of Sjaelland, and he was the cousin of Helgi and Hrothgar. Ale defeated Aun of Uppsala several times and usurped the throne, and he would remain in power until he was slain by Starkad.
