The Aldgate tube station is a London Underground station located near Aldgate in the City of London, London, England. It opened in 1876; it was built at the site of a plague pit containing 1,000 bodies. During the 7/7 attacks of 2005, a train travelling from Liverpool Street Station to Aldgate was attacked by suicide bomber Shehzad Tanweer, killing 7 people.
