Alcee L. Shane (1861-1898) was an African-American outlaw of the Wild West. In 1898, he attempted to lasso the gunslinger Iron-Sights Jones on the streets of Armadillo, New Mexico, resulting in a shootout between Shane and Jones and Jones' ally Arizona Kid. Jones and Arizona took shelter in the saloon, from which Arizona shot Shane through a window, killing him.
