Albrecht von Rauch was a general of Prussia during the Franco-Prussian War. Von Rauch led the 39,000 II Korps, stationed in Meiningen, into Alsace and Lorraine at the start of the war in 1870, seizing Strasbourg and the nearby regions from France.
