Biography[]
Albrecht Sendler was born in Kronstadt, Transylvania, Austria-Hungary (now Brașov, Romania) in 1922, the son of Protestant German parents. Sendler's family emigrated to the United States in 1925 to flee economic and social persecution, and Sendler worked at a factory in Hoboken, New Jersey.
