Alberto "the Shadow" Ruiz (1939-1983) was a Sosa Cartel hitman.
Biography
Alberto Ruiz was born in Bolivia in 1939, and he was hired as a hitman by drug lord Alejandro Sosa, as Ruiz became an expert in the "disposal business". He was nicknamed "the Shadow" for usually being silent and for following Sosa around, and he was sent to murder numerous opponents of his. He had Omar Suarez murdered in 1980, and he was sent to murder Matos Gutierrez with a car bomb in New York City in 1983. Tony Montana tailed Gutierrez as Ruiz prepared the bomb, but Montana attempted to dissuade Alberto from detonating the bomb after noticing that Gutierrez was driving with his wife and two young children. When Ruiz prepared to detonate the bomb anyways, Montana shot Ruiz in the head, killing him, and thus double-crossing Sosa.
