Alberto Writh

Albert Writh (1922- 27 March 1945) was a US Army Private First Class who served in the US 82nd Airborne Division.

Biography[]

Wirth was born in Dortmund, German. Later Wirth emigrated to the United States. After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Wirth joined the US Army airborne troops. There he was assigned to US 82nd Airborne Division. Its commander was Dane

In 1943, he was thrown at the village of Adanti. After destroying the cannons along with Dane and Boyd Travers was summoned by Setzen, but Dane decided to stay with the cannons. When Traver and Wirth got to the sergeant, he ordered Wirth to inform the command that they were being attacked by the Germans and to send reinforcements.

After Dane's death. Wirth joined Setzer's unit. He participated in Operation Avalanche, Overlord, Market Garden and Varsity.

His last operation was Der Flakturm. During Operation Der Flakturm on Travers and Setzer were tasked with demolishing the tower. As the Germans attacked them, Wirth escaped through the sewers in the detonator field. Travers discovered the body of Wirth, killed by SS soldiers.
