Albert Pickett Morehouse (11 July 1835-23 September 1891) was the Democratic Governor of Missouri from 28 December 1887 to 14 January 1889, succeeding John S. Marmaduke and preceding David R. Francis.

Biography[]

Albert Pickett Morehouse was born in Delaware County, Ohio in 1835, and he moved to Maryville, Missouri before becoming a lawyer in Montgomery County, Iowa and a schoolteacher in Graham, Missouri. He served in the Union state militia during the American Civil War, after which he served in the State House as a Democrat. He served as Lieutenant Governor from 1885 to 1887, when Governor John S. Marmaduke died, and he served as Governor from 1887 to 1889. He died in 1891.
