Albert MacGloan

Albert "Gloansy" MacGloan (died 2010) was a Boston bank robber.

Biography[]

Albert MacGloan was born in Charlestown, Boston, Massachusetts to a family of Irish descent, and he befriended fellow neighborhood kids Doug MacRay, Jem Coughlin, and Desmond Elden. The four of them became armed robbers and members of Fergus Colm's Irish Mob organization, giving him a cut of their robberies. They took part in two bank robberies and six armored car robberies during their careers, and their final heist was the 2010 Fenway Park heist. The gang was caught in a firefight with FBI SWAT officers at the parking garage next to Fenway Park, and MacGloan decided to make a distraction as MacRay and Coughlin changed into police uniforms. MacGloan drove the ambulance getaway vehicle out of the parking garage, drawing police fire and being mortally wounded. He crashed into a police truck, and he died of his wounds.
