Albert Kropp (1900-19??) was an Imperial German Army private who was wounded in action while serving on the Western Front of World War I.
Biography[]
Albert Kropp was born in Germany in 1900, and he studied law during his youth. He and his high school classmates Joseph Behm, Paul Baumer, Friedrich Muller, Franz Kemmerich, and Peter Leer were convinced to join the Imperial German Army in 1918 by their nationalistic teacher Kantorek, and they were assigned to Lieutenant Stanislaus Katzinsky's 2nd Company on the Western Front in France. Kropp was wounded in the leg during the Hundred Days Offensive, and he considered suicide after his leg was amputated; however, he decided against it due to the strength of his military camaraderie.
