Albert George Burr (8 November 1829-10 June 1882) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IL 10) from 4 March 1867 to 3 March 1871, succeeding Anthony Thornton and preceding Edward Y. Rice.

Biography[]

Albert George Burr was born in Batavia, New York in 1829, and the family moved to Sangamon County, Illinois in 1830. He became a schoolteacher in Vandalia before becoming a lawyer in Winchester in 1856, and he served in the State House from 1861 to 1864 as a Democrat, in the US House of Representatives from 1867 to 1871, as Chairman of the Illinois Democrats from 1870 to 1872, and a circuit court judge from 1877 until his death in 1882.
