Alan Grayson

Alan Grayson (born 13 March 1958) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-FL 8) from 3 January 2009 to 3 January 2011 (succeeding Ric Keller and preceding Daniel Webster) and from 3 January 2013 to 3 January 2017 (succeeding Gus Bilirakis and preceding Darren Soto).

Biography[]

Alan Grayson was born in The Bronx, New York City, New York in 1958. In 1986, he helped found the non-profit Alliance for Aging Research in Washington DC and served as an officer of the organization for over twenty years. He worked as a law clerk at the Colorado Supreme Court in 1983 and at the DC Court of Appeals from 1984 to 1985, and specialized in contract law as a lawyer. In 1991, he founded his own law firm. He was also the co-founder and first president of the IDT Corporation. In 2008, he was elected to the US House of Representatives as a Democratic Party member. Grayson was a member of the Progressive Democrats, and he served in the US Congress until 2017.
