The Alabama Theatre is a historic theatre located in Birmingham, Alabama. It was built by Paramount Studios in 1927 as a showcase for Paramount films, and it was used primarily as a movie theatre for 55 years before its owners declared bankruptcy in 1987 and sold the building to a non-profit. Renamed to the "Alabama Theatre for the Performing Arts", it came to host many live events and films, and it underwent a complete renovation in 1998.
