al-Muttaqi (915-944) was the Caliph of the Abbasid Caliphate from 940 to 944, succeeding ar-Radi and preceding al-Mustakfi.
Biography[]
al-Muttaqi was born in 915 to al-Muqtadir. He becae caliph in 940 when ar-Radi died, and he reigned for only four years before dying at the young age of 29, having been deposed and blinded by the Turkish general Tuzun. He was succeeded by al-Mustakfi.
