al-Mustanjid (1124-20 December 1170) was the Abbasid Caliph from 11 March 1160 to 18 December 1170, succeeding al-Muqtafi and preceding al-Mustadi.
Biography[]
al-Mustanjid was the son of al-Muqtafi, and he had his stepmother and half-brother imprisoned for conspiring to send slave girls to kill al-Mustanjid with daggers. His reign was uneventful, and he died in 1170.
