al-Mustain Nader (1157-) was a general of the Ayyubid Sultanate during the Crusades.
Biography[]
al-Mustain Nader was born in 1157 to a Sunni Muslim Arab family in Egypt, and he was adopted into the family of Saladin. al-Mustain was slightly dreaded, and he made an efficient general for this reason, although he did not possess adequate command skills to be considered a great general of the Ayyubid Sultanate. al-Mustain was in command of an army in the Sinai by 1182, by which point the Ayyubids had engaged in jihad against the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
