al-Mustadi (1142-30 March 1180) was the Abbasid Caliph from 18 December 1170 to 27 March 1180, succeeding al-Mustanjid and preceding an-Nasir.
Biography[]
al-Mustadi was the son of al-Mustanjid, and he was a peaceful ruler, maintaining a court and a vizier, as well as a small army that could defend Baghdad. His reign was uneventful, and he died in 1180.
