al-Muqtadir (895-31 October 932) was the caliph of the Abbasid Caliphate from 908 to 932, succeeding al-Muktafi and preceding al-Qahir.
Biography[]
al-Muqtadir was born in 895 to al-Mu'tadid. He succeeded al-Muktafi as Caliph in 908, and during his reign, he fought against the Byzantine Empire. His people were angered by his defeats at the hands of the Greeks in Asia Minor, and he lost control of North Africa and nearly Egypt. He died in 932.
