Al-Muqtadi

al-Muqtadi (1056-February 1094) was the Abbasid Caliph from 2 April 1075 to 3 February 1094, succeeding al-Qa'im and preceding al-Mustazhir.

Biography[]

al-Muqtadi was the son of al-Qa'im and an Armenian slave girl, and his reign saw the Seljuk conqueror Malik Shah expand the Abbasid Caliphate's lands (including the recovery of the Arabian Peninsula from the Fatimid Caliphate), and al-Muqtadi was briefly married to a daughter of Malik Shah before she moved to Isfahan with their son. al-Muqtadi died in 1094.
