Al-Din ibn Salim

al-Din ibn Salim (27 October 869-) was the fourth child and third son of Emir Salim Iqritishi of the Emirate of Crete. His mother was Emira Kenwa of the Iqritishi Emirate, and he was half-Andalusian and half-Berber; he was raised in his father's Andalusian culture. He later went on to become Emir of the Aegean Islands. However, his plotting against his half-brother Yunus ibn Salim bred contempt between the two, and Yunus usurped his emirate in 889 and imprisoned him in 890 after al-Din continued to plot against him. On 29 September 890, al-Din was banished to Batn Nakhl in Medina, far from home and far from being a threat to Yunus' rule.
