Al-Bahlol (787-813 AD) was a Khwarazmian soldier who fought in the Fourth Fitna commanded by Tahir, under al-Ma'mun. He was part of the first wave of soldiers in order to penetrate through Ali's defenses in the Battle of Ray. He survived the battle and then went on to fight the Seige of Baghdad, where he died after being bombarded by mangonels on boats of al-Samarqandi.
