Aktis

Aktis (died 431 BC) was an Athenian fisherman and supporter of Cleon who, in 431 BC, took part in Pratinos' attempt to assassinate Pericles' ally Metiochos at his home using poisoned snakes. Aktis was accidentally killed when one of the snakes bit him instead, and his friends hid his body before going on with the failed plot.
