Akira Guren was a Japanese gangster who led the Red Peacocks street gang in Dotonbori, Osaka during the 2010s. In 2019, the Akame Network hired Kazuma Kiryu to put an end to the gang's random attacks on passers-by in Soemoncho, and Kiryu defeated Guren and all of his comrades in street battles. Guren persuaded Kiryu to take him under his wing and teach him to be a better fighter, and Guren joined Kiryu's Joryu-kai fighting team in "the Castle."
