Akinori Eto (born 12 October 1955) was Defense Minister of Japan from 3 September to 24 December 2014, succeeding Itsunori Onodera and preceding Gen Nakatani. He was a Jiminto politician.
Biography[]
Akinori Eto was born in Towada, Japan in 1955, and he graduated from Nihon University. He was elected to the House of Representatives five times, serving as the representative from Aomori's 2nd district and as a Jiminto member. In 2014, he briefly served as Defense Minister in Shinzo Abe's administration, and Gen Nakatani succeeded him in December 2014.
