Akhmed Avdorkhanov (1973-19 September 2005) was the Head of Security of Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (ChRI) President Aslan Maskhadov.
Biography[]
Avdorkhanov was a member of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (ChRI) and was the head of security for President Aslan Maskhadov during the Second Chechen War. After Maskhadov's death he became the last nationalist leader, arguing for Chechen independence rather than for Islamism. He was killed in 2005 by Shamil Basayev, the Islamist leader of the Chechens, over a monetary dispute.
