Biography[]
Akemi Yoshizawa was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1977, and she became a high-end prostitute at the Shangri-La brothel in Kabukicho. There, she met Shinji Tanaka, a yakuza who was a big fan of adult entertainment, and they fell in love and, by 2005, the two were planning to marry. Akemi helped her fiancee hide his wounded boss Shintaro Kazama until Yukio Terada moved him to Shibaura Wharf, and, on 11 December, her fiancee's good friend Kazuma Kiryu came to Shangri-La to find Akemi. He and his ward Haruka Sawamura met Akemi at her room, where Kiryu broke the news of Shinji's death, which Akemi took some time to process. After a moment of exchaning their condolences, Akemi told Kiryu that Kazama had been moved to Shibaura Wharf by Terada, whom she trusted because Shinji had done the same. She also told Kiryu that there was word that Akira Nishikiyama was searching for Chairman Masaru Sera's will and was seeking to destroy it to ensure that he would become the next head of the Tojo-kai. Their conversation was interrupted when Goro Majima drove a truck into the brothel and stormed it, intent on fighting Kiryu, and Akemi watched as Majima held her coworker Reiko Akamatsu hostage before Kiryu persuaded him to leave her alone and fight him. After Kiryu defeated Majima, Akemi went with Kiryu to West Park, where the Florist of Sai handed Shinji's urn to Akemi so that she could keep her fiancee's ashes with her.
