Akaptah Tsenfa Ared, also known as Egippus, was King of Ethiopia from 30 to 38 AD, succeeding Sartu Tsenfa Assegd and preceding Horemtaku. He fathered Ephigenia of Ethiopia, and he was converted to Christianity by Matthew the Apostle. Egippus' successor Horemtaku would execute Matthew after the apostle refused to help him seduce Ephigenia.
