Akane Katō was a Japanese woman who lived in Fukuoka during the 2010s. She deludedly claimed to be a princess of the Pacific island of Coutand, which lay off Hakata Bay and was a land of islanders who adopted Japanese culture due to their shared ancestry. In December 2012, claiming that her father had sent his "royal security detail" to retrieve her for an arranged marriage, she hired the Nakasu Taxi driver Kazuma Kiryu to help her escape, and, after he did so, she gave him 30,000 yen for his troubles.
