
Ajmal Kasab (13 July 1987-21 November 2012) was a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba and one of the attackers in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Biography[]
Ajmal Kasab was born on 13 July 1987 in Faridkot, Okara district, Punjab in the country of Pakistan. He was from the qassab community, members of the Muslim community that were involved in the meat business. In 2005 he became a criminal, engaging in armed robbery and petty theft with a friend of his before being persuaded to join Lashkar-e-Taiba in 2007. From 26 to 29 November 2008, he was involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks in India, killing several people at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station. He was the only attacker to be captured alive by police, and he confessed that he was ordered to "kill until his last breath". Kasab was hanged in Pune, Maharashtra, India on 21 November 2012.
