Ahmed al-Nami

Ahmed al-Nami (17 August 1977-11 September 2001) was an al-Qaeda member from Saudi Arabia who was one of the 9/11 hijackers.

Biography[]

Ahmed al-Nami was bon on 17 August 1977 in Asir Province, Saudi Arabia to the Quraysh tribe, and he was a muezzin before becoming radicalized in 1999, having had a dream where he was riding on a mare with Muhammad, who told him to dismount and liberate his land from the enemies of Islam (the United States). al-Nami left his home to complete the hajj, but he instead headed to the Al Farouq training camp in Afghanistan to join al-Qaeda. On 23 April 2001, he gained a US visa, and on 11 September 2001 he took part in the hijacking of United Airlines Flight 93. He failed to hold back the passengers as they fought the attackers, and Jeremy Glick snapped his neck; however, Ziad Jarrah crashed the plane into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania to take all of the passengers down with him.
