Ahmed Mohamad (born 1992) was an Islamic State sympathizer from Australia who was arrested on 23 December 2016 for planning attacks in Melbourne on Christmas.
Biography[]
Ahmed Mohamad was born in Meadow Heights, Melbourne, Australia to an Egyptian immigrant family, and he joined a cell of Islamic State sympathizers alongside Abdula Chaarani and Hamza Abbas. In 2016, they planned to carry out several bombings in Melbourne in response to Australia's intervention in the war against ISIS, but they were arrested on 23 December 2016 before they could carry out their attacks.
