Ahmad Umar (1972-), also known as Abu Ubaidah, was the leader of al-Shabaab from 2014, succeeding Moktar Ali Zubeyr.

Ahmad Umar was born in 1972 in Somalia, and became the leader of the Somali Islamist militant organization al-Shabaab after the CIA assassinated Moktar Ali Zubeyr with a drone strike.
