Ahmad Khan Rahami (born 23 January 1988) was an Afghan-American citizen who was responsible for the 2016 Manhattan bombing, the 2016 Seaside Park bombing, and an attempted bombing in Elizabeth, New Jersey on 17 September 2016.

Ahmad Khan Rahami was born on 23 January 1988 in Afghanistan, and he later moved to the United States with his family, becoming a naturalized citizen. He worked at his family's fried chicken restaurant in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and he would later become a radical Islamist. On 17 and 18 September 2016, he planted pipe bombs in Seaside Park, New Jersey; Manhattan, New York City; and Elizabeth, New Jersey, with the Seaside Park bombs targeting a US Marine Corps charity race and the other bombs targeting population centers. On 19 September 2016, he was captured after a shootout with police in Linden, New Jersey, wounding two policemen before being shot in the shoulder. al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula claimed that he had been influenced by the group's Inspire magazine, and Rahami would be imprisoned on terrorism charges.
