Agustín Somarriba was a Spanish Army captain who served in Melilla with the Army of Africa during the Rif War of the 1920s. In July 1921, he greeted Duchess María del Carmen Angoloti y Mesa and her Red Cross nurses on their arrival in Melilla, and he transported them to their hospital after informing them that Colonel Vicente Ruíz-Márquez was unable to greet them at the docks in person.
