The Agrarian Party of Russia is a centrist (formerly socialist) political party in Russia, founded on 26 February 1993. The party was founded as a socialist party by Governor Mikhail Lapshin, and the party was allied to the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in opposition to the Fatherland - All Russia party. However, the party adopted centrist views in 2008 and endorsed United Russia candidate Dmitry Medvedev as president; the party briefly merged into United Russia before splitting from the party in 2012.
