Biography[]

Agatha Hannigan was born in New York in 1884, daughter of an Irish emigrant family. The alcoholic caretaker of the orphanage in New York City, she despised children, particularly girls, but nonetheless loves her job. Her cohorts are her brother and his girlfriend Rooster Hannigan and Lily St. Regis. The same day, Annie Bennett hide in the laundry basket (which Irving Bundles took away). As Annie was brought home by a cop that Miss Hannigan sent (along with a stray dog named Sandy), the latter (Miss Hannigan) threatened to send Sandy to the sausage factory.

Because of this, Grace Farrell (the board of the orphans and secretary of Oliver Warbucks), who decided to take Annie to Mr. Warbucks' house for a visit, took Sandy with her. While Annie was gone, Rooster and Lily escaped from jail and pay her a visit. They intended to use the situation that Annie was at a billionaire's house for wealth, but without knowledge.

After the kidnapping of Annie, Miss Hannigan went with her helpers (who were taking Annie away), and suddenly changed when Rooster was about to catch and kill Annie (who had escaped onto the drawn B&O Bridge) because they didn't tell her that they were planning to kill her and was knocked down for trying to stop him. When Rooster slided back down (due to Punjab knocking him after catching Annie), Miss Hannigan scolded him and beats him with her purse calling him a "reprobate." Rooster and Lily were then arrested. Later, after beingh put in custody, she, now a changed woman, and was among the guests at a party where Franklin Roosevelt and the First Lady Eleanor were enjoying themselves.
