The African Revolutionary Party was a socialist political party in Liberia that existed from 1861 to 1936. The party supported a state-run economy that was protected from foreign trade, the reduction of religion to a private matter, the extension of full citizenship to all cultures within Liberia, and an aggressive foreign policy. The party was founded as a more radical version of the Pan-African Party, believing in anti-colonialism and revolutionary African socialism.
