
Afif Shahid (17 September 1963-2 May 1998) was a Hezbollah commander from Lebanon.
Biography[]
Afif Shahid was born on 27 September 1963 in Qana, South Lebanon to a Shia Muslim family. Shahid joined Hezbollah during the Lebanese Civil War and rose in their ranks, commanding them in ambushes against the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) during their invaison of Lebanon in the early 1980s. By the 1990s, he was the leader of Hezbollah in Qana, and he fought against the Israel-supported Lebanese Forces as well as the South Lebanon Army and the Israeli soldiers in the protective zone in southern Lebanon. He was killed in an Israeli Air Force airstrike on 2 May 1998.
