The Afghan Millat Party is a social democratic political party in Afghanistan that was founded by Ghulam Mohammad Farhad on 8 March 1966. Formally known as the Afghan Social Democratic Party, the Millat Party was founded by a group of influential bureaucrats affiliated with the ruling elite, and the party supported the interests of the Pashtuns of the country. After the 1978 Saur Revolution, the Millat Party was banned, but it was legalized in 1987. Anwar ul-Haq Ahady, Finance Minister from 2004 to 2009 and Commerce Minister from 2010 to 2013, was a member of the Millat Party.
