The Amir Faction was the ruling party of the Emirate of Afghanistan from 1823 until its disestablishment in 1926. As a conservative party, it had a protectionist trade policy, state capitalist economic policy, moralist religious policy, had a residency policy for immigrants, and was pro-military. The Amir Faction was in charge in all three Anglo-Afghan Wars, of which the second was a military defeat, and the other two indecisive.
