Afework of Damot (743-) was the King of Damot from 769 to 26 November 786.
Biography[]
Afework was born to the House of Na'akuelo, a dynasty of Miaphysite Christian Ethiopians. He became the ruler of the small country of Damot, and he fought against King Omar of Shewa in a 782 campaign to conquer Shewa. However, the Kingdom of Berbera intervened in the war, and King Muhammad I of Berbera proceeded to conquer Damot after a military campaign in 786.
